The Power of Weekly Planning for a Fulfilling Life – Part 2

Issue #5 Wellbeing For Women: Journal with Terry

Explore evolving personal wellbeing commitments and learn how to seamlessly integrate personal wellbeing goals into your professional life

Dear beautiful souls,

In Issue #4, we explored the power of standing personal wellbeing commitments. I shared with you, sacred, daily rituals that anchor us into presence and intentional living.

In this issue, I am going to share with you the importance of  evolving personal wellbeing commitments and how to integrate personal wellbeing commitments into your professional life.

Evolving personal wellbeing commitments are the personal wellbeing activities that may not happen daily but are just as essential to our growth, healing and transformation.

Unlike daily standing commitments, evolving commitments are carried out and due weekly, biweekly, or even monthly. They reflect our shifting needs, our seasonal rhythms, and our desire to reconnect with ourselves in a deeper way. These are the moments we set aside for intentional restoration, self-beautification and rituals that pour back into us.

Some of my own evolving commitments include:

  • Biweekly self-manicures and pedicures – A sacred time to care for my body and hands that do so much for me.
  • Weekly or biweekly full facials – Acts of self-love that cleanse not only the skin, but the spirit.
  • Self-massage – A powerful way to release tension, reconnect with the body, and promote inner calm, sometimes even more intimate and effective than a visit to a spa.
  • Weekly meditation walks – Long, soul-nourishing walks where I walk in silence, breathe deeply and allow clarity to emerge.
  • Reading for self-development – Whether it’s a magazine, book, or even a sacred text, reading is a way to feed my mind and soul.
  • Solo wellness retreat day (once a month) – A full day dedicated to self-care, self-therapy, cleansing and healing.
  • Monthly financial review and planning – This activity helps me to set and achieve financial wellbeing.

These practices are not optional. They are foundational to my wellbeing and success. They ensure that I don’t burn out, I stay whole and I carry the same love I pour into myself into my social and professional life.

Benefits of the evolving commitments

🌸 Biweekly Self-Manicures and Pedicures

Tending to our hands and feet is more than surface-level beauty. It is an act of reverence for the parts of our body that carry us and create. When we take time to soak, massage, trim and paint our nails, we engage in intentional touch. We stimulate pressure points that reduce stress and release tension.

When we do this at home, we build a sacred intimacy with our body. We become our own caretaker, affirming that we are worthy of attention and love without needing to outsource our care. It also saves time and creates an opportunity for quiet reflection or pairing the practice with music, affirmations, or a warm cup of tea.

✨ Weekly or Biweekly Full Facials

The face is where we carry emotion, stress and expression. Giving your face attention through cleansing, exfoliation, steaming, or gentle massage is like telling your body: I see you. A home facial offers privacy, presence and gentleness.

Beyond the glowing skin, the deeper benefit is in pausing, breathing and reconnecting with your reflection without judgment. This ritual softens the nervous system, increases circulation and clears energetic blockages, especially around the jaw, forehead and temples where tension is often stored.
